Generational Wealth and Family Dynamics: Bridging the Buyer Markets

The Great Wealth Transfer is the defining macro force in luxury real estate right now. Gen X and millennials are set to inherit $4.6 trillion in global real estate wealth over the next decade — with the U.S. capturing 52 percent of that transfer. Parents are increasingly buying luxury properties for adult children now rather than waiting for inheritance, and nearly one in five luxury purchases involves multigenerational living intentions. Agents need to understand how to serve both sides of this equation: the boomer seller and the younger heir-buyer entering the market with cash, intention and very different priorities.
