As more U.S. consumers buy high-end cars, they come to one realization: it is not easy securing insurance for such expensive vehicles.

DuPont Registry, a community-to-commerce community for auto enthusiasts, aims to change that with the debut of duPont Registry Insurance. The company has partnered with established insurer Hagerty to offer this new service to the collector car market.

More Americans than ever are purchasing high-end cars, and many of these owners have experienced the challenges of insuring these types of vehicles,” said Antoine Tessier, CEO of duPont Registry Group, in a statement from the company’s Miami, Florida, headquarters.

“Insurance coverage can be hard to find, costly and riddled with inadequate customer service that doesn’t understand the high-end car market or the experience these customers expect,” he said.

Staking a claim
As a licensed luxury insurance agency, duPont Registry Insurance claims it will offer ‘quality coverage and white glove service’ for high-end car owners through products offered by Hagerty.

“Owners of exotic and high-end cars are not looking for the quickest insurance option,” Mr. Tessier said in the statement. “They seek reliable, transparent and high-touch experiences.”

Customers will be able to pick from disparate insurance premium rates through the company’s relationship with Hagerty and gain nationwide coverage.

Other benefits include a free subscription to the duPont Registry magazine and free listings on duPontRegistry.com for vehicles insured by duPont Registry Insurance.

“Properly insuring and valuing high-worth cars requires specialized knowledge,” said Derek Prechtl, senior vice president of sales for North America at Hagerty. “We have the data, expertise and … customer service these owners deserve.”
